NEW JERSEY– A bill permitting newspaper delivery vehicles and news media reporters and photographers on New Jersey roads during officially declared snow emergencies was passed by the Senate State Government Committee in early October.
Currently, after a snow emergency is announced, only emergency vehicles and essential workers such as hospital employees are allowed on state roads.
The bill was introduced last February after a January blizzard led New Jersey to announce a snow emergency and ban “non-essential” vehicles and workers, including journalists and newspaper delivery trucks, from roads for 24 hours. (S. 681)
