Pushing Up The Price of Public Records in Oregon
· Story link
Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries is preparing to charge profit-making rates – and then some – for copies of its records. It has proposed fee increases of up to 90 percent for copies of complaints and investigations. The minimum fee would go from $4.50 to $7.50 and the time for an hour of a supervisor’s time from $33 to $62 an hour. That works out to a salary of $129,000 a year, or a lot of overhead. (2/13/06)
