The Connecticut State Senate voted to limit the ability of the chief justice to appoint judges to panels considering appeals. The vote was a rebuke of outdoing Chief Justice William J. Sullivan, who modified the panel considering a Freedom of Information Commission ruling that the court system’s computerized motor vehicle and criminal dockets are public information.
