EPA Withholding Superfund Data, Senate Democrats Claim
· Story link
Senate Democrats accused the Environmental Protection Agency of withholding vital information about the cleanup of toxic waste sites that pose risks to nearby residents. The information includes the costs and time involved in cleanup, data the EPA has designated at “privileged,” Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said at a hearing. An EPA administrator, Susan Bodine, said only law enforcement information was blocked. The Superfund committee hasn’t met in four years. (6/16/06)
