Air Force Agrees to Administer Study Grant on State Records, National Security

The Air Force said it will administer a controversial $1 million grant to St. Mary’s University Center for Terrorism Law to study state and local laws safeguarding information on infrastructure and cyber security. The study, included in the Defense Department appropriations bill, has drawn concern from open government advocacy groups. “Such reviews very seldom wind up increasing access to information,” said Paul McMasters, First Amendment Ombudsman for the Freedom Forum.
