With Libraries Closed, EPA Employees Can’t Get Needed Data
· Story link
The closing of three Environmental. Protection Agency libraries across the country drew fire at a gathering of librarians in Seattle, who said the closing was hurting not just the public and the scientific community but its own workers. Librarians said the closings had significantly increased their workload because they were getting many new information requests from EPA employees who could no longer get needed data. The Seattle Post Intelligencer said it had obtained records showing the libraries were heavily used. (1/24/07)
