New Jersey Governor’s Ex-Girlfriend Can Join E-Mail Release Debate

A Superior Court judge in New Jersey ruled that a former state union leader who once dated Gov. Jon Corzine can join in arguments on whether e-mails between her and the governor should be made public. Judge Paul Innes said that the union leader, Carla Katz, “has a real privacy interest here.” The state Republican Party is pushing for full public disclosure of the governor’s e-mails in an effort to determine if the relationship affected recent state contract talks.
