Maryland courts have adopted new procedures that could result in a one-day delay for persons seeking court records. The Administrative Office of the Courts told clerks they can ask requesters to fill out a form and take up to 24 hours to fill the requests if demand is heavy. Court file access is covered by the state’s constitution, not its public records law. (8/29/07)
