Texas Court: City Business on Personal E-Mail Accounts Still Public
· Story link
A district court judge in Texas told the city of Dallas it must release e-mails the Dallas Morning News requested some 22 months ago. The request included messages from the city manger, former mayor and the city’s housing director on their personal accounts and from hand-held devices used for city business. An attorney for the newspaper said this was the first ruling by a Texas court on whether e-mails related to city business were public when sent or received through personal e-mail accounts. (10/30/07)
