Pennsysvania Senate Overwhelmingly Approves Records Law Reform
· Story link
The Pennsylvania Senate, by a 48-1 vote, approved a revision of the state’s open records law, long considered one of the weakest in the country. The bill now goes to the state House, which is considering separate open records legislation. The Senate measure declares records public unless they fall within one of 28 exemptions. It puts the burden of proof on the official seeking to deny release of information. (11/29/07)
