Administration Appeals Ruling That White House Visitor Logs Are Public
· Story link
The Bush Administration asked U.S. District Judge Royce Lambeth not to enforce his ruling that White House visitor logs are public documents and subject to public records requests until it can appeal the ruling. The judge said in his ruling that the records are created by the Secret Service, which is subject to the Freedom of Information Act. The administration had ordered the records turned over to the White House, claiming that made them presidential documents outside the scope of the public records law. (12/17/07)
