Meet the new RCFP.org

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press is excited to share that we launched our website with a fresh, updated design, improved navigation, and a clearer focus on what we do — defend the legal rights of newsgatherers.

Our new website has been a year in the making, and our amazing partners at Alley worked with us on user research, strategic planning, and responsive design.

The internet, and the ways we use it to access and share information, has drastically changed since the last time the Reporters Committee updated our website about 10 years ago. We’re confident that our new site, building on the WordPress platform, will provide a better experience for our audience.

We’re making it easier for journalists and media lawyers to find and use our guides and resources, which are all available at the click of a button on the sleek navigation bar. Our pages are cleaner and easier to read; photos and graphics are bigger and better; and we’re meeting you where you are by having a mobile-responsive website.

Reflecting our organizational commitment to inclusion, we’ve also made changes so that our website is more accessible to all users. Most notably, the new RCFP.org reflects the direction the Reporters Committee is headed in — doing what we do best with a modern approach.

We recognize that it might take some getting used to, so keep an eye out for features on the site in the weeks and months to come. It’s easier than ever to stay in-the-know about the latest legal issues affecting journalists and news organizations with our monthly newsletter, launched in early 2018.
