Emily Garcia

Emily is a junior at the University of Georgia (UGA) where she studies journalism. Prior to her acceptance into UGA, Emily attended Augusta University (AU) where she worked as the Editor in Chief of The Phoenix magazine.

Over the summer Emily worked for AU's newspaper, The Bell Ringer, as a special project contributor and published over a dozen investigative stories written from court dockets and Georgia Open Records Act requests.

She is also a student fellow at IRE & NICAR and a member of NAHJ.
