Maris Medina

Maris Medina (she/her) is a legal intern at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and a second-year student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

At Loyola Chicago, Maris is an assistant blogger on IP Bytes, a student-run intellectual property blog, and an associate editor on The Podvocate podcast, which explores the vanguard of the legal world in Chicago and beyond. She also serves as President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.

Prior to law school, Maris worked as a political video journalist for The Hill, producing video explainers and mini-documentaries on Washington politics and policies. As a student journalist, Maris received a Capital Emmys Student Production Award and an official Citation for AAPI Service and Exemplary Journalism from the Maryland Legislative Asian American and Pacific Islander Caucus.
