Sydney Brown
Sydney Brown is the executive assistant for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. In this role, she functions as a liaison to the Executive Director where she is involved in shepherding and executing day-to-day tasks, major developments, and special projects. In addition, she works the leadership team and regularly engages with the Steering Committee and external partners.
Sydney is a graduate of American University’s School of International Service in Washington, D.C. where she earned her M.A. in International Affairs focusing on Comparative and Regional Studies and post-conflict peacebuilding in the Middle East and North Africa. She is also a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she earned her B.A. in International Studies and minored in Arabic language. Prior to joining the Reporters Committee, she served as a Studio Assistant at a global architecture firm in Washington, D.C.
