Study Group, Still Counting, Finds Sensitive But Unclassified Markers
· Story link
A small group of federal officials trying to smooth information sharing among agencies has come up with 108 “sensitive but unclassified” markers that block access to data for anyone without a designated need to know. To add to the confusion, each of the markers – “Official Use Only” and “Trade Secret” are two – has its own set of handling and distribution rules, resulting, one investigator said, in “chaos.” The group is expected to send recommendations to the President shortly.
